Flurina Rigling is a high-flyer in the world of paracycling: in 2023 she took gold in the world track championships and the road race championships in Glasgow. The 27-year-old accomplished these feats after just over three years of being regularly in the saddle of her racing bike.
Former ETH student Luca Hasler has played a part in Rigling’s success. The mechanical engineering student developed new handlebars customised to the parathlete’s hands as part of his Master’s thesis. They enabled Rigling to ride her bike more safely, comfortably and – above all – faster.
In the video Hasler and Rigling give an account of their intensive collaboration and of what has happened since Hasler’s graduation.
