Technology platforms
ETH's technology platforms promote interdisciplinary collaboration, contribute to cost reduction, and present an attractive working environment to highly specialised experts.
Details about the definition and organisation of technology platforms at ETH Zurich can be found in the Download Konzept Technologieplattformen (PDF, 204 KB) (in German). All running platforms are listed below.
AgroVet-Strickhof
At external page AgroVet-Strickhof university education and research in the field of agricultural and veterinary sciences is linked to the practical needs of agriculture through cooperation between Strickhof, ETH Zurich and the University of Zurich. AgroVet-Strickhof also has various state-of-the-art research infrastructures in addition to the animal stables.
BRNC
The Binnig and Rohrer Nanotechnology Center (BRNC) is co-run by ETH Zurich and IBM Research. It provides an excellent research infrastructure for science and industry. A cleanroom and noise-free labs make it possible to conduct highly sensitive research in the nano dimension. Website
CSCS
The Centro Svizzero di Calcolo Scientifico (CSCS) is a supercomputer platform that offers services to the Swiss research community but also conducts research in scientific computing itself. It is an autonomous unit of ETH Zurich and is embedded into various international networks. external page Website
dTIP
The Digital Trial Intervention Platform supports ETH researchers and spin-offs in the implementation of medical research and offers support in planning, submission and implementation of complex clinical studies. dTIP was launched in January 2021 and is currently in the development phase. dTIP Website
EPIC
The ETH Phenomics Center (EPIC) is ETH Zurich's mouse facility. As such it offers infrastructure and services for humane lab mouse husbandry to researchers from various backgrounds and provides access to modern analytical procedures as well as to technology laboratories for the charaterisation of in-vivo models. Website
FCCF
The ETH Flow Cytometry Core Facility provides flow cytometry-based services (including cell sorting, high-end analysis, and support for experiment design) to all researchers at ETH Zurich and the local scientific community. Website
FGCZ
The Functional Genomis Center Zurich (FGCZ) is co-operated by ETH Zurich and UZH. It supports research in the Life Sciences, more precisely, in genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, and bioinformatics. FGCZ offers state-of-the-art infrastructure as well as expertise in technology and data analysis. external page Website
FIRST
The technology platform Frontiers in Research: Space and Time (FIRST) serves research and education in the field of micro-? and nanoscience. It features a large cleanroom laboratory of about 400 m? with state-of-the-art equipment for a wide range of processes with emphasis on III-?V materials growth. Website
GMP Facility
The GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) Facility is an ETH technology platform shared with University of Basel and University Hospital Basel. In our academic setting, the GMP platform objective is to provide an environment compliant with the regulatory requirements, which enables researchers to manufacture their gene, cell, and tissue therapy products (Advance Therapeutic Medicinal Product, ATMP) for use in human clinical trials.
NEXUS
NEXUS Personalized Health Technologies is composed of two units, Theragnostics Discovery (robotic screening, analytic technologies, chemical libraries, genome-scale gene manipulation tools) and Clinical Bioinformatics (computational expertise, integration of data from "omics" and clinical studies). Website
ScopeM
The Scientific Center for Optical and Electron Microscopy (ScopeM) provides access to modern electrone and light microscopes for the structural characterisation of materials as well as to related sample preparation equipment. Besides infrastructure, it also offers consultation, training, and services for scientific imaging. Website
SwissCAT+
The external page SwissCAT+ is a data-?driven technology platform of the ETH domain offering high-?throughput and automated experimentation tools combined with advanced computational data analysis in the field of catalysis.
techpool
techpool is the central information and order platform for workshop activities. The platform provides access to workshop technologies available at ETH to all researchers, irrespective of their departmental affiliation. Workshop orders are assigned and executed within the ETH workshop network based on customer needs and available capacities. Website
Wyss Zurich
The external page Wyss Zurich Translational Center (Wyss Zurich) is a unique accelerator, embedded within ETH Zurich and the University of Zurich, that is dedicated to the emerging fields of regenerative medicine, robotics, and medical devices/bionics technologies.
