Research, Technology Transfer & Collaborations

The Executive Board members that are mainly responsible for this area are the Vice President for Research and the Vice President for Knowledge Transfer and Corporate Relations.

Your primary points of contact for related services are the Office of Research for research funding, infrastructure, networks, and research ethics, ETH transfer for contracts with research and industry partners, patents, licensing, and spin-offs, as well as the Industry Relations team.

Also see the portals Research and Industry & Society for further information on contents.

ETH can help you explore the interface between research and industry by supporting entrepreneurship, providing advice on intellectual property, and checking contracts.

The Corporate Communications department is available to advise and support you on all matters regarding working with Swiss and international media, creating your website, making the most of your social media presence and using the university’s corporate design.   If you or your team have research results that you would like to bring to a wider public, Corporate Communications can promote these on ETH Zurich communication channels. The same applies if you have won an important prize with broad recognition beyond single disciplines.

Feel free to contact the department’s to discuss your communications needs.

The International Knowledge Base (IKB) contains information on ETH Zurich's international contacts, exchange programmes and research collaboration links. The web platform features a global report (public) and detailed reports which are available per country, institution, department and professor (ETH members only).

Potential use of the IKB for faculty: The IKB enables new professors to see with which universities ETH has had contact (showing research areas, right down to the names of research teams at other institutions). For students looking for a supervisor for their doctorate, for instance, professors can use the IKB to find out who already collaborates with the home university of these students.

ETH Global: If you have any questions about the IKB, or you would like to learn more about international collaborations at ETH in general, please do not hesitate to contact the team at ETH Global.
