Duration

You can take part in a Swiss exchange for one or two semesters.

Partner universities

  • Lausanne: Ecole polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne EPFL
    Basel: Universit?t Basel
    Bern: Universit?t Bern
    Fribourg: Université de Fribourg
    Genf: Université de Genève
    Lausanne: Université de Lausanne
Lugano / Mendrisio: Università della Svizzera Italiana USI
    Luzern: Universit?t Luzern
    Neuch?tel: Université de Neuch?tel
    St. Gallen: Universit?t St. Gallen

A stay at a Swiss partner university involves significantly less effort compared to other universities due to the shared educational and legal framework. In particular, the EPFL and ETH curricula are easy to coordinate.

Language requirements

No language test is required, but you must be able to follow the courses in the respective lecture language.

The Student Exchange Office does not issue a language certificate, as the training or learning agreement signed by the ETH and the partner university is sufficient. Should you nevertheless require a letter, contact your departmental exchange coordinator.

Scholarship

All partners except EPFL

If you cross a language border, you will receive a scholarship of CHF 1,000 per semester. No additional application is required for this scholarship. You will receive the scholarship contract by email in due course.

EPFL

You receive a scholarship of CHF 1,500 per semester (independent of the effective number of months). This special funding highlights the importance and encouragement of exchanges between the two ETHs.

No additional application is required for this scholarship. You will receive the scholarship contract by email in due course.
