Insurances at the end of the scholarship
The insurance situation must be clarified before the end of the scholarship.

You do not have to do anything.
If you do not leave Switzerland
- By Swiss law, every person must be insured against accidents and have health insurance.
- You must now look into health and accident insurances because your insurance will expire after the last month of your scholarship.
If you leave Switzerland

If you do not leave Switzerland
- Check the validity of your card. (The expiry date is printed on the card.)
- Should you still be in Switzerland when the card expires, you must contact the appropriate office in your home country and request an extension.
- As soon as you receive a salary, your ETHIC insurance coverage with is no longer guaranteed and you need to take out a Swiss health insurance.
- By Swiss law, every person must have health and accident insurance.
- Personal liability insurance is optional and recommended.
- Gaps in contributions for old-age pensions should be avoided.
- Choose the insurance coverage according to your post scholarship situation in Switzerland carefully.
- Before you return to your home country, you must cancel your Swiss insurance(s). You will need a deregistration confirmation for the cancellation. (Remember to organise your insurance coverage in your home country.)
