Print service
Aside from relieving the user from having to manage the technical infrastructure the decentralised print service also leads to a reduction in technical complexity as standard equipment is used. It has the following advantages:
- Reduction of waste due to testing
- Economies of scale due to large supply orders
- Ease of use as all devices follow the same process (order, dispatch)
- Pull printing is an easier alterative to other Print Service devices.
In addition to the basic package (infrastructure equipment), the customer has the option to rent additional equipment.
This service is available to all ETH members. The user must be authenticated.
Different conditions apply to the different customer groups (ETH-internal, ETH-related organisations) with regard to printing costs and rental prices for equipment. These are listed in detail in the relevant SLA guidelines.
To order them, contact your ISG, which then coordinates with IT Services.
Support
The operator is responsible for daily maintenance (paper/toner replacement).
Faults
If a problem arises with the device either contact your ISG or the Service Desk.
All ETH Print service devices (printer, scanner, copier) are supported with a supplier maintenance contract which ensures prompt repair.
