Your services specifically for research at ETH.
A solid basic IT infrastructure is a prerequisite for cutting-edge research. In addition, specific IT methods, platforms and infrastructures can be enablers for research. The spectrum ranges from HPC computing power and services for data analysis and simulations, to the management of source code and research data, to the development of research-centric software and data analysis pipelines. To this end, IT Services has a team of engineers, scientists and technicians who work closely with the research groups to meet their research-related IT needs.
During the start-up phase, the IT Services offer newly appointed professors special support for a successful start at ETH Zurich. An overview of all standard services of the IT Services can be found sorted by categories in the IT Service Catalogue. Specific IT projects are discussed and agreed between the research groups and the IT Services on a case-by-case basis.
The section Scientific IT Services (ITS SIS) provides research-centric IT services for computing- and data-intensive research activities at ETH Zurich.

?We build bridges between IT Services and professors, lecturers, researchers, and staff?. The aim of the Customer Experience and Solutions division is to build and maintain "bridges" between the departments and IT Services. At the same time, ITS CxS aims to meet the IT needs of the departments with solutions and services from the entire range of ITS' offerings. The focus is providing all typical IT services for research, teaching and administration.
Services in the departments
The Customer Experience and Solutions division (ITS CxS) provides IT services and support to the ETH departments. This includes the complete management of workstations (purchase and installation of hardware, maintenance of operating systems and applications, configuration of printers and peripherals), the administration of user accounts, the provision of file servers for different applications and data types, and the maintenance of laboratory device controllers and research applications.
