Research Commission welcomes new members
The Executive Board has appointed four professors to the Research Commission. Meanwhile, one professor is embarking on a second term in office and three are stepping down.
In a recent meeting, the Executive Board announced that the Research Commission would be undergoing some changes.
New members appointed for a term to 2019:
- Anthony Patt, Professor of Human-Environment Systems at the Institute for Environmental Decisions in the Department of Environmental Systems Science (D-USYS).
- Christophe Copéret, Professor of Surface and Interfacial Chemistry at the Laboratory of Inorganic Chemistry in the Department of Chemistry and Applied Biosciences (D-CHAB).
- Christophe Leroux, Professor of Drug Formulation and Delivery in the Department of Chemistry and Applied Biosciences (D-CHAB).
- Renato Paro, Professor and Director of the Center of Biosystems Science and Engineering in Basel and Head of the Department of Biosystems Science and Engineering (D-BSSE).
Christian Wolfrum, Professor at the Institute of Molecular Systems Biology in the Department of Health Sciences and Technology (D-HEST), has been re-elected and will remain on the Research Commission for a second term from 1 September 2015 to 31 August 2019.
Dieter Schlüter, Professor of Polymer Chemistry in the Department of Materials (D-MATL), and Didier Sornette, Professor of Entrepreneurial Risks in the Department of Management, Technology and Economics (D-MTEC), will be leaving the Research Commission as of 30 April 2015. Jaboury Ghazoul, Professor of Ecosystem Management in the Department of Environmental Systems Science (D-USYS), will be stepping down on 31 August.
