Recording of working time and absences
The regulation for the recording of working time and absences will take effect in January 2017.
Since the beginning of 2015, a new accounting standard based on the International Public Sector Accounting Standards IPSAS has been applied at ETH Zurich. In line with this changeover, there are new rules for time recording by ETH staff from 2017 onwards.
On 13 December 2016, the ETH Zurich Executive Board approved the Regulation for the recording of working time and absences.
According to this regulation, as of 1 January 2017 all staff at ETH Zurich are obliged to record their daily working hours and specific absences either in the time logging system in ETHIS (ETH Information and Support System), or in an existing time logging system. The time-recording requirements vary according to the personnel category.
The table and text below show the absences to be recorded by the various personnel categories:

Administrative and technical staff, functional level 1-9
