TAIR – The database for the plant Arabidopsis thaliana

Members of ETH Zurich can now find out everything about the plant Arabidopsis thaliana on The Arabidopsis Information Resource (TAIR) database.

Arabidopsis thaliana

Arabidopsis thaliana, the thale cress, is a small annual plant from the cabbage (Brassicaceae) family. Despite its small size, it is considered the most important model plant in plant research. Its genome has been completely sequenced and is now the best annotated plant genome.

Researchers and interested parties can find all genetic and molecular biological information on Arabidopsis thaliana in the external page TAIR database. In addition to the complete genome sequences, the website provides information on gene structure, gene products, gene expressions, seed stocks and genome maps. All data from research literature are summarised and continuously updated, and as an additional service, TAIR offers various tools for processing and visualising the data.

Access is possible within the ETH Zurich network as well as via VPN.
