Working group “Big Topics” (WG BT)

Initiated in 2022, the working group “Overarching Topics” was commissioned by the Executive Board to develop potential solutions for topics affecting multiple levels of the university’s organisation and which could therefore not be dealt with in the individual workstreams.

Workstreams 1 to 6 were invited to submit pertinent topics and these were then bundled into “Big Topics” for the dedicated working group “WG BT” to address.

Big Topics

  1. Logical structure of the organisation as a whole: the meaning and interaction of the different organisational levels and units
  2. Role of the academic departments and collaboration with the Executive Board
  3. Collaboration between the academic departments and the professorships
  4. Structuring of the relationship and alignment of core service and support units
  5. Form of autonomy within the overall organisation, its boundaries and integration
  6. Administrative autonomy: maintain resources, continuity, capacity and motivation
  7. Disseminate knowledge of central institutional pillars, interrelationships and initiatives, and ensure transparency
  8. Strengthen the university’s dialogue, decision-making and leadership culture, as well as mutual appreciation, organisational complexity

Solutions have been put forward for the first two Big Topics and feedback on them is currently being sought within the organisation.
