Dr. Sebastian Kahlert

Curriculum vitae

Sebastian Kahlert has been working at ETH Sustainability since September 2023 and leads the ETH Net Zero Programme. In addition to coordinating the transformative projects, he is particularly involved in emissions reporting and the Green Labs Initiative. He represents ETH Sustainability in various national and international networks (IDEA League, ISCN, UN SDSN) and was appointed to the external page QS Advisory Board as a sustainability expert.

Sebastian holds a PhD in Circular Economy from ETH Zurich and studied Management and Technology at the external page Technical University of Munich (Germany) and external page Shanghai Jiao Tong University (China) with a focus on renewable energy, e-mobility and supply chain management.

Before joining ETH Zurich, Sebastian worked at external page McKinsey & Company as a management consultant specialising in sustainability and digitalisation. There, he founded and led the German Green Teams to improve environmental sustainability within the company. He is also active in the Do-Tank external page Circularity, which focusses on the promotion and implementation of circular economy approaches in companies and saves food with external page Foodsharing.
