The Executive Board of ETH Zurich has expressed a desire to see an intensive waste disposal campaign. Although the Facility Management department¡¯s waste disposal concept offers many advantages, there is also a need to improve the space situation at ETH Zurich ¨C more specifically, to free up space by clearing out and getting rid of waste. The special exhibition on ¡®Tambora and the year without summer¡¯ will welcome 15 national and international researchers to present their latest results in a public lecture series. Lectures will be held in focusTerra every Thursday evening at 6 p.m. from 8 September to 15 December 2016.

The Facility Management department has overall responsibility for utilities and building management for all buildings and facilities used by ETH Zurich. It carries out these activities using its own resources or by calling on external service providers.
