Dr. Tobias Halbherr has been working at ETH Zurich as a specialist for learning technologies and teaching innovation since 2012. He heads the 'Digital Education Services' group of the EduIT section of ETH Zurich's IT Services (c.f.?Applications and services in support of teaching – Staffnet | ETH Zurich) as well as the Special Interest Group (SIG) E-Assessment of the SWITCH eduhub community. After undergraduate studies in computer science at ETH Zurich, he studied Psychology at the University of Zurich with a minor in Computer Science and a focus on the cognitive sciences. From 2017 to 2020, he completed a part-time doctorate at the Chair of Learning Sciences and Higher Education at ETH Zurich and completed the CAS 'General Management' of the Rochester-Bern Executive Programs in 2024.
Previous activities include research on adaptive computer-based learning and assessment environments in aviation security, software development and data analysis for the Engineering Treasury of Zürcher Kantonalbank as well as freelance work in event management and live video art.
