The objective of the call for tenders is to find printers who can continue the ETH's printing services externally from 2025. The call for tenders is expected to start in the coming months. The search for solutions is ongoing for employees of the Print Group who have not yet found a new position internally.

Due to an acute lack of space in the centre, the Department of Earth Sciences was looking for new storage space. Together with the 365ÌåÓýÖ±²¥_365ÌåÓýͶע-¾º²ÂÍøͶ Services storage team, a former army ammunition depot has now been converted. Over thirty Euro pallets are already stored in the new high racks.

In the past few months, several employees have been using the parking spaces in the underground garages of ETH Zurich without payment. In many cases, the exit controls were actively and systematically avoided.

As communicated some while ago, parking charges at ETH Zurich will be brought into line with market prices in a third and final step. In future, parking spaces will only be available for rent in buildings belonging to ETH Zurich. Meanwhile, the number of charging stations for electric vehicles at ETH will be increased.

"Plot on demand" allows you to print posters and plans yourself at multiple locations using a QR code that you purchase online.

The VSETH printing service?Student Print On Demand (SPOD) will be incorporated in the Print and Publish range of services as a pilot project this semester. The service will be available from the online web shop as of 14?October 2020.

There's so much to organise and think about when planning an event ¨C especially in the coronavirus era. That includes obtaining the necessary permit to hold the event. Thanks to a new tool called Servix, getting an event approved is now easier than ever.

The ETH Link will run on electricity from the beginning of the semester. Starting on 14 September 2020, electric articulated buses will link the H?nggerberg campus with the Zentrum campus. Alongside the ¡°eLink¡± connection, there will be new charging stations for electric vehicles and more services for e-bikes.

Emergency mode at ETH has led to many changes: from teleworking and virtual lectures to online events, things that were mostly unpopular a few months ago now seem to be the way of the future. For ETH members and students: Print and Publish is introducing an extended dispatch of printed matter from the web shop by post. This service takes effect immediately and will run throughout the corona period.

A pool of helpers has been set up to help members of the ETH community who are under extra stress due to emergency operations. Volunteers are constantly being sought for this.

The winners of the photo competition for ETH members "Favourite places on the H?nggerberg campus" have been selected: Nicolas Ochsner won with a photo of the archive room of the Institute for the History and Theory of Architecture (gta). ?

At the start of August, Alessio Figalli was awarded the Fields Medal. This distinction is often referred to as the Nobel Prize for mathematicians and is a cause for major celebration. ETH Zurich is to mark this special occasion with a honorary lecture on 22 October 2018. The lecture will also be broadcast via live streaming.

An info room in the former anatomy building at University Hospital Zurich provides information on developments in Zurich¡¯s central university district. There is also a poster exhibition in ETH¡¯s main building that discusses what will happen to the urban space between the buildings.

From the beginning of 2018, ETH will switch completely to white recycled paper. This is a multiple benefit: The step reduces the burden on the environment, is cost-effective and meets high quality standards.

Things are getting going a few minutes earlier in the morning ¨C in both directions. And during term time, the Link shuttlebus will now make four instead of three rounds every hour.
